I'm a Millennial. While we are a much-maligned generation (however fairly or unfairly) we grew up with technology. As such, I believe technology should be embraced in the classroom. Our students are doing it; we should be, too -- but we should be illustrating how to use technology in a constructive manner.
Because I'm a Social Studies guy, here are some of my favorite resources for each of the various disciplines. It is important to note that this list is far from complete and is always growing as I find new resources.
American History
- Library of Congress documents: great for key primary resources.

- Zinn Education Project: the work of 'people's historian' Howard Zinn.
- Race - The Power of Illusion: an honest discussion about race, how the idea of 'race' evolved, and its implications.
- UH Digital History: a variety of resources from the University of Houston in a neat timeline format.
- Exploring Africa: for a continent that doesn't get a lot of attention.
- Crash Course World History: a series of videos that is constantly being updated, so check back often - it even expands beyond World History.
